BUTLER AREA MERCHANT’S ASSOCIATION
MISSION STATEMENT and HISTORY
Butler Area Merchant’s Association (BAMA)
Our mission is to attract new businesses to and grow existing business traffic in the Butler/Worthington township areas.
The Butler Area Merchant’s Association was officially formed in February of 2013. A small group of motivated citizens from the Butler area met at the Village Hall to discuss their common goals for the regrowth and improvement of the Butler and Worthington Township areas. A common desire was to ensure that people are able find good jobs locally and raise their families within the Butler/Worthington Township areas.
The Merchant’s Association was established as an informal, not-for-profit organization led by volunteer members. The first major undertaking of the association was the establishment of and publishing of the Butler Area News, a local newsletter. It serves as an informal newspaper for the area, and is written and published by a local volunteer. The Butler Area Merchant’s Association funds the monthly newsletter, and uses it to educate, inform, and entertain the public regarding the advantages of living, working, worshipping and relaxing in the Butler/Worthington township areas.
